Non-Functional Requirements?

Functional requirements are not enough for SaaS companies

A lot of companies are paying less attention to vital components of their software.  Quality, resiliency, scalability, maintainability, security and performance are being de-prioritized in favor of fast feature delivery.

Unfortunately, technical due diligence in SaaS M&A transactions are often centered around those very NFRs (Non-Functional Requirements) that are being set aside.  The software’s functions, features, and UI/UX are assumed to be there.

In this edition of the MangoChango Newsletter, we want to highlight the importance of NFRs in all software development projects.

Here is our monthly curated list of thought-provoking books, blogs, and videos about building more valuable software:

How Teams Measure Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)

By Parasoft
This is a great 4-minute video that highlights the relationship between different software development methodologies and their focus on NFRs.

To no one’s surprise, more iterative methodologies like Agile put less emphasis on NFRs than more traditional ones like Waterfall.

MangoChango’s relentless emphasis on NFRs with all of our client engagements is key to maximizing the value we deliver.

MangoChango’s engineers are experts in a wide variety of technologies, frameworks, tools, and languages with an emphasis on continuous learning as new thinking, tools, and techniques come to market.
