Leading Provider Of Vertical Transportation Controls and Monitoring Solutions
The Problem
The original monitoring and controls system was built using legacy technologies that were costly to maintain and difficult to deploy.
Moreover, the outdated architecture lacked the robust security required to support the client’s mission-critical application. It relied on on-premise hardware and did not offer essential features such as source control or versioning across client implementations.
After a modern, web-based architecture was designed and deployed, a custom integration was needed to support third-party hospital robots—used to deliver medication and transport materials within healthcare facilities.
A key requirement of this integration was to ensure the robots could communicate wirelessly and operate seamlessly with all on-premise elevators, enabling them to perform their tasks efficiently throughout the hospital environment.
The Solution
To meet this challenge, we developed robust APIs that tap into real-time elevator data feeds, enabling robots to access and interact with elevator systems on demand.
In parallel, we built an intuitive graphical interface that gives operators full control—allowing them to grant or revoke robot access to specific elevators instantly, with changes reflected in real time.
This integration empowers the robots to autonomously perform key actions such as calling elevator cars, opening or closing doors, and monitoring elevator status—eliminating the need for physical button presses and enabling fully automated, hands-free operation.
The Result
This solution strengthened our client’s relationships with its healthcare customers by enabling seamless integration with robotic systems.
In addition, the secure, scalable APIs we developed enhanced the client’s market-leading capabilities and positioned them for future growth—opening the door to new partnerships with other robotics providers and expanding their competitive edge.
